I was doing my daily exercise walk around the marina yesterday afternoon when I saw two police officers standing by the lock. They were enquiring whether the lock was operating (I’m not sure why they didn’t speak to the marina staff directly who ensure that it is manned 24 hours). We told them it was closed to all but essential/emergency traffic. It seems they are anticipating an increase of leisure users in the harbour this weekend and are working out where to deploy their resources.
