I'm interested to read about damage to your boat ... extent and remedies ?
The owner of the yard has banned anybody from taking pictures in the yard. So I'm still waiting to find out.I'm interested to read about damage to your boat ... extent and remedies ?

No Cash - No SplashIf you never authorized the work, you are not obliged to pay.

And bad reputation that will get round the coursing community like wildfire unlike the guy next door who seems to be righting boats at no cost and gaining a good nameI'll be sticking to the advertised rates that I signed up to.
It's a bit of a game of chicken, of course. He knows there's a real risk of me walking away, in which case all he has is a knackered boat.
The guy next door lost his house and was injured, but he was down at the yard the next day working to secure the boats and ensure the safety of the people living on them. And bad reputation that will get round the coursing community like wildfire unlike the guy next door who seems to be righting boats at no cost and gaining a good name
That doesn't look so bad. I am sure you can repair itSo I've had the first look at the damage now, courtesy of a friend. Grainy photo attached, which makes it look not so bad. But the closer up videos she sent paint a different picture. The damage affects a pretty large section of the port side. It might be borderline unviable.
I've been talking to a surveyor who is traveling to the island this week, hopefully I'll get a more professional opinion on matters soon.
If we do go ahead with the repair, I'm going to have to remove big chunks of the interior including the water tanks. Fortunately everything should be readily removable- I don't have a nice hardwood interior with plugged fittings, instead I have Formica faced plywood with visible screw heads.
I can't really see the boat being habitable for a family of three whilst this is all underway, so I'll probably need to go out on my own to get started on the repair. If we go ahead with it...
It's quite a lot worse than that picture suggests. I'll send you the videos on FB messenger. It doesn't look bad to me, but I have forwarded it to my pal Darren who is a fibreglass wizard. Will send you his response when I get it.
