Antifouling transducers

I like the recent posting on adding chilli powder to antifouling!

Can anybody tell me what antifouling is safe to use on transducers. I've just bought a new TackTick system, and am not keen to spend £100 on Micron Optima just for the transducers. They say to use only water-based antifouling, but TackTick say that it's copper that has caused problems with depth transducers in the past.

Any ideas?

I've used Plastimo 123 and Jotun Seaguardian on Nasa and B&G transducers and log paddle wheels for many years with no problems at all. Give it a try.

prime and then antifoul, never had a problem but I do make sure that the AF doesn't get too thick.
