I've a feeling this is a bit of a silly question so I'll take my virtual ridicule if need be, but it's been playing on my mind...
Our boat was hauled out in early December with a view to being relaunched at the beginning of January. For various reasons I prefer the boat to be in the water rather than out during traditional layup periods, hence I like to get the work done without any mucking around.
I took full advantage of a break in the weather and had two coats of Seajet 033 and a further two coats of Hempel hard boot line applied within the first few days after being lifted. The boat was supposed to be immersed within 4 weeks so I was happy with that. Unfortunately, our relaunch has been delayed until mid Feb so the best part of 2.5 months since application.
The max relaunch time on both products is six months so I'm well inside of that, but I have to say that the paint is looking quite streaky and a bit discoloured (particularly the boot top), presumably as it's been raining heavily. Is there any prelaunch prep to bring it up to scratch or are my concerns trivial? I'm guessing both paints will redeem themselves and perform as designed once immersed?
I'd rather not have to get the brushes out again...
