@vilguy can you tell us a bit more about her history please?
Who designed her, who built her, construction material etc?

I found her Facebook page with Google -
Sailing SV Andorina
Built by a Spanish yard in 51 (or it might be 53... cant remember) though there are conflicting reports that she was actually built in greece. Not verified in any way shape or form there though.

Shes pitch pine below the water line and mahogany above. On Oak frames. In generally good condition underneath the 30 off layers of crap paintwork that made her look rotten. Upper 3 or 4 planks most of the way round are rotten from where water ingress was retained with Mastic.

Engines are twin Deutz DT44's and although when purchased seized, were serviced and motored her all the way. Apart from a 2 hr moment on the mull of kintyre when a glance at the engine panel showed 150 degrees.... turned out that a flick on the panel and it went back to normal! (PHEW)

3 off 1000 ltr fuel tanks are rotten and to be cut out and replaced with plastic. Upgrades throughout to make her more self sustainable. She now sports 800w of solar on her pilot house.

Mizzen mast snapped upon removal due to rot. Both masts are being replaced with a more modern setup.

Below, the interior will be pretty much entirely ripped out and redone to suit a liveaboard (her current accommodation setup is terrible and very inefficient)

Estimating 4-5 years for the rebuild

With regard to the Lady Andorina. Is she still undergoing repairs at Rosneath ?

The reason I’m asking about this is because back in 1985 I spent a year onboard her as a crew member ( engineer). At the time she was privately owned and our job as crew was to position her to wherever the owner requested. She was based in Palma but we spent the summer of 1985 sailing the length of the Med and back to Palma. After a short break out of the water for minor work and a hull repaint, we then took her across to the Caribbean for the winter of 85/86, I left the boat later in 1986. I believe she returned to the uk sometime in 1986

I will be up in Glasgow in mid September and would dearly love to see her again, no matter what state she is in.

Would anyone know with whom I could contact regarding this request
