It looks custom made to hold the shank down and lock in place by restricting the higher part of the stock for the shackle from passing.

The links above are for chain stoppers, a different but similar purpose.

It would be quite a straight forward job to measure and get a local fabricator to make one for you.

All the best.

The photo doesn't look to me to be a chain stopper. I would say that it's a one-off fabricated device for locking the anchor in its stowed position. By the way, having the jaws of the swivel straight onto the anchor is not recommended. Any side loading will tend to open the jaws.

Agree that is a custom made fitting but the ebay ones do a similar job but you will need to check the dimensions carefully. The chain stopper performs a similar but not the same function.

Thanks Jonathon, Vyv's solution is exactly how we've installed ours. But the Loctite tip useful, will sort that today on my visit to the boat.

What's needed is a new and more intelligent breed of anchor, which, when it comes up to the roller, rotates itself. 😀
Or alternatively, you can use a "bent link" or "boomerang", which will do it for you.

Sorry but a fitting like that is not on my list .. the anchor looks like shank of a plough .. so why have the anchor standing like that ??

Here's my plough sitting in purpose made chocks available in chandlers :

Yes I have to hand the anchor through the pulpit - but the set-up is neat and I don't have to hanging over the stem in the way of any bow lines etc.

Of course you can do that but more common now to keep the anchor stowed on the roller ready for action.

Doubt any of those fittings are actually bought these days and I suspect many like me have sets in their "might be useful one day" box. Also commonly seen at boat jumbles tied up with a length of twine and a parcel label saying "open to offers".

As Queen Victoria said : I am not amused.

As I suspect many who see the chocks loose in a bag would probably not know what they are for ...
If the anchor is as I suspect a plough - its not so good at being left over the roller as I've found. Plus I have other uses for the roller as well as anchoring.

I forgot I'd wired it but keeping an eye that the monel wire doesn't rub through until I can get some Loctite in there.

Personally I'm not an advocate of Loctite on such ... I prefer wired ...

Having twisted off the eye part of a shackle pin where someone used permanent Threadlock .. (not so easy to put heat on a shackle out on deck) ... I'll stay with wire.
