The NE harbours such as Banff, Buckie, Portsoy, Lossiemouth et cetera, are all on a wild lee shore from the NW through to NE and were built with various features to dampen storm waves.Every harbour is exposed in the wrong conditions. It looks as if the port quarter was holed by the corner of the pontoon. If you look carefully you can see the bilge pump discharging.If not his boat then a very nice man indeed - recovered before the stern was holed.

That seems counterintuitive - does the breakwater not give shelter from essterlies?Brixham is worst in easterlies.
