My only experience of Alexandria was back in 1961.
We were anchored offshore for a night and a boat rowing around the stern of the ship distracted the 3rd Mate and the AB on watch for about 20 minutes.
In this time every bit of removable gear on the foredeck was gone - tarpaulins, wires, hooks, monkeys faces, shackles, pulleys the lot.
The derricks had been lifted ready to go when we entered port. When dawn arrived we discovered that they had even removed the tail ends of the topping lift wires so that we couldn't lower the derricks!!
I'm sure things will have improved by now - but I wouldn't bet on it!!??
