AIS Virtual Buoys

Understood. Thinking more of those places with shifting entries (after storms etc), poorly charted or redimensioned fishfarms etc. The local harbour authority could make changes as necessary.

Ah, I see. Yes, that would certainly be a good and sensible use of virtual aids. But somebody needs to tell the French :)

Interesting the comments in YM that Raymarine say they have incorporated the ability to display AtoN's in their software since AIS AtoN's started. However the software for the Classic C series MFDs does not have this functionality and the MFD Mr.C appears to be using in the article looks very like a C70 , perhaps YM or Raymaine can clarify.

Do you know if that's the case even with the latest software update (ver 5.16 July 2012) please?

Unfortunately yes, I queried this with Raymarine some time ago and was told they would not be revising the software to include this facility. Pity as I am sure there a very many C series still in regular use.
Perhaps someone will prove me as incorrect in which I will be delighted.

Thanks. Presumably they show as stationary ships? Assuming the elderly EASYAis I've just fitted can decode them.
