Understood. Thinking more of those places with shifting entries (after storms etc), poorly charted or redimensioned fishfarms etc. The local harbour authority could make changes as necessary.

Ah, I see. Yes, that would certainly be a good and sensible use of virtual aids. But somebody needs to tell the French :)

Interesting the comments in YM that Raymarine say they have incorporated the ability to display AtoN's in their software since AIS AtoN's started. However the software for the Classic C series MFDs does not have this functionality and the MFD Mr.C appears to be using in the article looks very like a C70 , perhaps YM or Raymaine can clarify.

Do you know if that's the case even with the latest software update (ver 5.16 July 2012) please?

Unfortunately yes, I queried this with Raymarine some time ago and was told they would not be revising the software to include this facility. Pity as I am sure there a very many C series still in regular use.
Perhaps someone will prove me as incorrect in which I will be delighted.

Thanks. Presumably they show as stationary ships? Assuming the elderly EASYAis I've just fitted can decode them.
