It just isn’t relevant. If the flame on a spirit stove fails the spirit stays in its container where it belongs. There is no hazard created if the flame blows out. How it meets that regulation I have no idea the surveyors must have discretion.

Sadly I'm banned from the bikes,had them since 14 on the fields then passed my test at 17, dam 40 years ago. I used to race and had a massive crash at Caldwell that very neatly killed me, so Mrs says no more bikes

Had bikes too, started as a teenager up until 2 years ago when my bike got hit from behind by another bike that could not stop at a junction and punted my bike and myself into the main road, it wrote off my FJR1300, wife said no more bikes after that.

3rd generation motorcyclist, my grandfather had a motorbike and sidecar, the first one in our town, my father had a good few different bikes and latterly he used mine, my middle son has a BMW 1300 GS Adventure bike, and my youngest son has a BMW R1000RR, youngest son is only just back from a tour of Italy on his bike.

Bad news on your fjr1300 but at least your ok, dam these fun sponge wife's.I like the way BMW came from touring bikes and built the amazing 1000rr,bet your youngest was hurting touring on his? I could really fancy one of the adventure bikes,be great for my arthritic joints lol but not worth the row,should be happy she let us buy the boat

Yeah, there is an advert for a Suzuki 650GT not far from here... Ohhh it's tempting!
I had a 650 Katana for a few years, was a great bike, first night I rode it a friend offered me £50 more than I paid for it, I was sorely tempted but told him I had only done 2 miles on the thing.
3 years later I sold it to him for a bit more than I paid for it, about 5 years later it came up for sale again I went and had a look and took it for a test run, the bike was like a banana and would not steer straight plus the guy had put a "performance" exhaust on it and didn't alter the mixture the bike was a pig to drive, I was quite disappointed as I was keen to buy it back.
It had been in a high speed crash so the bloke I sold it to told me, it also had the wrong tank on it, I knew that as I had bought a 650GT and the guy I sold the katana to wanted the smaller tank and I was happy with the larger tank on the GT as I was commuting from Wick to Glasgow every week.

Wow Wick to Glasgow is some commute lol, I lived in my caravan just outside Wick while doing a job at the Gas Site, really enjoyed my time up there, the people are so friendly. Was talking bikes with a guy who bought my mountain bike last night, when sadly Steve Henshaw was killed at the TT I had his old Micron Sponsored Supercup GSXR750 and his F1 RG500 both would be worth a pretty penny, would of helped my planned upgrade to a Princess Flybridge lol, and when I see the price MK2 Ford Escorts are going for it makes we want to cry after wrecking at least 5 when Autograss Racing

I remember the gas terminal getting built, did you ever visit the Queens Hotel? My family owned that up until 1992, I ran the bars in the hotel then, when my father passed away mum did not want to continue and my wife (now ex) had absolutely no interest in it, so we sold it up in '92 and I went south for work in Glasgow, hence the commute, Sunday night to Glasgow and return on the Friday. The Drumochter pass in winter with snow on the ground was interesting on the bike
Back then I kept a dory in Staxigeo Harbour, just to the north of Wick, harbour dues were a lot less than Wick plus it was a little bit more sheltered, Staxigeo used to be the main harbour for Wick until the Herring boats came then Wick expanded and had new breakwaters built.

It was later I worked up there, it was a good job until they hired this a hole of a Project Engineer, I was supposed to be the site guy but he always came visiting and the site guys hated him a total smart ass. Small world though we used to run the Yew Tree pub in Gresford North Wales, had some cracking times there but Marstons the brewery wanted rid of the old pubs that made them the money for these new souless eating houses so it was sold and now an accountants office, sad for such a long standing old traditional boozer.

We are booked into a Marstons on Sunday in Stevenston for when we go on the PB level 2 course in Largs.

You could see the gas terminal from my house and my farm was just along the hill from it, a few hundred meters or so
If you look on Google Earth then my old farm is now called Newtonhill Community Woodlands, it was Hill of Newton Croft before I sold it to the Forestry Commission, I also had the property beside that called Old Stirkoke Farm, together they were 135HA, but most of that was rough grazing or hillside, I also had an ancient monument, an old Broch, on the farm near where the quarry is.
