What was the answer to the spirit stove BSS compliance question?
Thanks for your well wishes and this Forum has been a great help and had a great response to my questions so appreciate it,if this is the measure of boating people think we have found a good gang of like minded souls.Makes the origo and oven/microwave solution more useful as in a marina you can (usually) plug in. Spirit and inverter only needed when out.
It’s nice when people ask questions them reply to all the answers. Good on you. Not everyone bothers.
And I wish you happy times on your new craft.
I missed the question but my spirit stoves boats both had a BSS. It wasn’t tested as a party of it.What was the answer to the spirit stove BSS compliance question?

Thanks for your reply Tico, never realised that about the Severn. I want it at Neyland,we are on the list, in fact I'm working at the power station in Pembroke and have been looking at the Haven and it looks ideal so once our space comes up in Neyland will defo move her, we was planning once I get more experience of going up the coast at Aberystwyth and even North Wales and then the other way to the Bristol Channel, I want to get out sea fishing on her but think I better do my Navigation first, got my VHF SRC course at New Quay Yacht Club booked for 30th Sep and will try and squeeze in RYS pb 2 with Rudders depending on work, so getting there slowly, just wish a space in Neyland would appear by magic lol.Congratulations - looks ideal for exploring the Daucleddau above the bridge and for trips within the haven in good weather.
Did you enquire about moorings at Lawrenny?
Seems a shame to travel all the way to the Severn / Avon when the haven is so close.
PS the Severn is a bit boring as the level is not controlled so you are frequently constrained by tall banks (can't see anything) and low water levels in summer. Avon is prettier as the levels above Tewksbury are controlled, just have the locks.
Re reading this and seeing advice given to people on a narrow boat forum as my cooker was installed before the 2000 cut off it may be ok, watch me get the miserable anal bss examiner lolHi M, reference this table, the q was why / how the spirit stove complied with regulation 26…:
Yup. That's OK, satisfies requirement 27.Others will know better, but if the cooker has a thermocouple on each burner, is this the no flame safe?
Edit: if you have to keep the control knob pressed down until enough heat generated to release it
Not you too!Gosh Darn! We went out for lunch today at the canal side and came back with a boat
Yes keep that as evidence lol, enjoy your new boat, out of being a nosy bugger what is the new boat?We were cycling to the canal side restaurant and Mrs stopped and said "I like that one..." AND I have it on video too
I'll start my own thread now
