I find the whole subject pitiful TBH ....

We all know that Climate Change is happening ... its been happening since world first appeared ... Modern living has increased its rate of change and despite deniers - I'm sure they actually understand that.

Let me add another angle to this : Vegan groups are giving non Vegans a poke - trying to convince the world to stop eating meat. It was not so long ago that a Study listed animals 'farting' / gas as contributing.
So lets suppose world stops eating meat ... imagine just the Bovine population growth ... no longer bred for slaughter ... who's going to 'cull' them ? Who will let you 'cull' them ?

As to producing fuel from Coal .... that is a very dirty process !!

Cattle would not be bred at all if eating beef was phased out .
I believe it takes a great deal of land to farm beef cattle. beef is also a contributor to rain forests being cut down to create land for cattle.

I gave up meat eight years ago and have never looked back. I did it for my own health with no thought for the planet. I also found meat tasteless when compared to when I was a boy. Forced growth , non grass fed injected with loads of salt and water. I still enjoy dairy .

OK ... I agree with your post - but I said population growth and culling. As in present cattle procreate and population increases with no intervention by man - the Bovine Protection League which would no doubt spring up would be up in arms !! along with the Vegans

It is unlikely that consumption of beef will be prohibited. But if there was no market for cattle other than say dairy products , cattle would not exist in anything like the numbers that exist now. Livestock would not simply be allowed to roam free.

Without beef, you won't get milk or other dairy products. Cows have to have a calf a year to keep milk production going.

Although there is a lot of irresponsible beef farming, cattle, also sheep and pig, can use resources and land that cannot be used for arable crops. The manufacture of palm oil isn’t doing us a lot of good either.
