I've recently bought an old two-man wood saw which is very pitted with rust, from someone who would have let it rust to nothing in his shed. I want to clean it up for ornamental use as it's a very attractive shape, and wonder if someone more adept with corroding metal can advise me how to preserve it. I've sprayed it with WD-40 but this can't be a long-term solution. Can anyone offer advice please?
