Adhesive for Celotex

I have some Celotex to put up on GRP, but am not sure which adhesive to go for.

So far, I have looked at Evo-stik contact adhesive and something solvent free such as No More Nails.

Any suggestions?

I have had a bad experience with Evo-stik. It was used to glue velcro to the inside of a landrover, which became very hot (>40C) in the summer sun. The adhesive melted, then as the sun went down, cooled to stick to the seat fabric.

That was a few years ago, and they might have made changes to the formulation, but if the GRP is likely to become hot, it might be worth checking.

Yep reckon that will do the job.
try a test area, i think it can go quite tacky to the touch when left a while.
a 6 > 8m/m notched steel trowel should do the job.
what thickness celotex do you propose to use

dont forget to tape the joints with the self adhesive aluminium tape to totally seal it

12 m/m is flexible & non absorbent. used extensively in construction

They are closed cell so should not soak up moisture.

I'll let you know at then end of the week if they have enough flexibility!

We gun foam the joints before taping. Helpful if you've got irregular shapes to fit into.

For 12mm I don't think there is much choice. It came from Travis Perkins and is TB4012

I was thinking foam, it sticks pretty well.

Just cut it slightly large and it will squeeze into place. I sometimes use a bit of gaff tape if it's not tight enough. You could use little dobs of builders foam.
