a) interetsed in what effects other mariners
b) concern for other water users
c) occasionally our boats are allowed to be lifted ashore as well
d) general interest in ALL things boaty, from dingys to gin palaces.

Though it is funny, I have never seen a power boat owner complain when a sail boat get put along side in a crowded summer marina - when I have been asked to berth along side a sail boat already there, more than once the look on the skippers face is one of distance and displeasure (well, those that don't just ignor me).

I am thankful to say however that this is the exception, rather than the norm. I am glad that most Scuttlebutters and forum users in general appreciate we all have different tastes and pleasures and unlike you seek to build bridges rather than widen the gap.

widen the gap

[/ QUOTE ] Well you are the one who seems to be wanting to start and all out war over a tongue in cheek remark.

Apparently the yacht was a Bav. It's a write-off (unsuprisingly) but the good news is that the keel stayed on...............

Sorry, cheap jibe, Terence. Couldn't resist. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(PS: not intending to make light of the injuries suffered by the crane driver, though I'm pleased to hear that he's not in any danger.)
