Well, I checked the inshore forecast for N/E Anglesey on Saturday. Didn't look too hot, blowing up to force 5. Met office weather forecast said different, so we thought we would drive down anyway and risk it.

Got there and, although a bit blowy, the sea state was fine, even with the wind against the tide. Launched Argo '0' (first time this year) and had a belting days fishing off Molfre. First time out since the boat and engine were winterised, not a single problem (other than launching with the drain bung out, but a little embarresment and the bilge pump soon sorted that!).

Got redy to go back to shore to recover the boat when my brother started muttering something along the lines of "thats not what i thin it is, is it?". Bugger me, 20 ft away from the boat was 6 to 8ft Porbeagle shark! Must have been after the shoals of Mackerel. Shant be getting the ringo out for a while!

Shark!!

So how many people have you heard of being attacked by a shark in UK waters? Not many I suspect, almost certainly none, so get yer ringo out and enjoy it.

I can't prove it but I'm absolutely positive I saw a killer whale in Cardigan Bay a few years ago. I was fishing off Mwnt point (between Aberporth and Cardigan) and it was swimming south.

I believe the divers on the North Sea rigs have had problems with them in the past so I suppose it's possible. Isn't it?
