It's time for my quick rant!!

Time and again I read missives that people have written moaning about this or that saying "it's not fair" or "they should do this or that". We are in a unique position of being able to see the world from a totally different perspective and have the privilege to be able to do so when the ordinary Joe will still be working his guts out. So what if the marina charges this or that, don't go there, go somewhere else, drop your hook but do not moan about it please, life is too short. Similarly I am sure there are people who cannot anchor properly, though I've never seen it myself, and I've anchored in some pretty difficult places like the 12m tides in the channel islands. All I can think of is what my friends wife says "what ever".

Rant over!!

Have fun and happy sailing one and all :encouragement:,:eek:,:)

If people didn't moan there wouldn't be a YBW forum :) now there a thought , I guess moaning is a part of life , it nothing to do with being privileged to sailing in a boat or travel in a motor home .actually if you think about it , you are moaning that people moan , But yes I get your point some time there just too much of it on here .

@Keith
I sort of agree with the sentiment but cant help but smile at the irony of you posting a "rant" about people who come on the forum to post a "rant" :)

Privileged, Privileged! Where do you get that from? I'm not privileged and floating about just for the fun of it, like the dirt dwelling majority (especially family) seems to think, this a serious job of work and one that offers poor working conditions and lousy pay to boot; where it not for my public-spirited nature I'd give up tomorrow, but invariably my conscience intervenes and insists that I soldier on, providing work and income for the International marine and tourism industries. That's the cross we have to bear, albeit a thankless task.

Sir, for I feel that I should call you that because your attitude is so noble that you should knighted for your services to the marine industry. I am humbled by your seemingly endless giving. If I could only be as you......:)

Sail over to the the Caribban and you will see it most days you anchor. I don't see any problem in talking about it.

Privileged to me sounds as if I have been given something on a plate.
I worked bloody hard all my working life, planned, dreamed, gave up many things to lead this life.
I don't class myself as privileged or lucky.
We still go without many things.
It is not privileged but a choice that took years to accomplish.

I think that sums it up very well
