am thinking of changing my boat, and i am looking for a modern 35ft catamaran to replace my present 33 ft cat. but the choice seems limited or non existant.

what i am looking for is a bridgedeck cat with a reasonably low profile but good bridgedeck clearance and a beam around 20ft.

anybody know of a manufacturer? better still, anybody have any experience of the american/ australian/ south african producers?

I've just helped deliver a Lagoon 410 from France to Florida. It performed beautifully in calm and (particularly well) rough weather. Great bridgedeck saloon with all round vision and a great looker if you also like the look of the Starship Enterprise.

Downsides - I was a bit nervous about the lack of rigging to stop the mast falling forwards, the cabins in the hulls were narrower than you'd expect and the passageways darker. It was also a bit juddery in the forward cabins when you were going faster than 10 knots in any kind of lumpy sea. This seemed to happen most nights. When it reached above 15 knots everyone woke up.

One of the other crew said that the best cats he had ever sailed were "Prestige". I can't comment myself but I'd trust his judgement.
