If Mike and Juliette went to Canada on holiday, can you answer the following questions for me?

What time of year was it?
Which part of Canada did they stay in?
What type of accommodation?
Name at least one type of car they drove?
Where might they go on holiday next year?
Name at least one other member of the party
Name two dances they performed in the evening?
What were they drinking?

Please delay posting answers for a few minutes to allow people a chance to do it for themselves. Some of you will get the answers very quickly

Don\'t read if you are still doing it....

They went in November, they stayed in Quebec, in an Hotel, they rented a VW Golf, they plan to visit Lima next year, and Charlie, their friend who went with them, is very keen to do this, as he needs to practice his Tango, which suffered rather from the amount of Whiskey that he was drinking when he tried it this time!

Will all their baggage be carried by a Zulu in Uniform or aren't I allowed to ask that?

Re: Ahhh Mr Jermain...

I was Pronto, and later a Sunray Minor!

I left a little door open for someone to remember dear old Roger who got shot down in a Spitfire in 1944 and as far as I know was lost at sea in the Channel.

As for age, Charles, I am celebrating a birthday today. I'm not saying which one, but I am enjoying my retirement.

Able, Baker . . .

. . . Charlie, Dog,
Have you seen my chocolate frog ! !

I must be getting old as well! This thread started me thinking, but I can't remember all the "old" alphabet.

Something to do with the whisky killing off a few brain cells along the way, perhaps !

Anyone care to complete the whole thing?

Juliette?

James, I didn't solve your puzzle. I got sidetracked. I reckoned (as Shakespeare) to spell the phonetic equivalent of J as Juliet. When I saw your Juliette I thought there must be some twist. In the end I cheated and looked at the answers, and then looked up my code books. We're both wrong; the spelling is Juliett, two Ts, no E. Does anyone know why?

And on the subject of alphabets, does anyone remember the "anti-phonetic" alphabets? The ones I can remember (going back many years) went:

A fer 'orses (or A for Gardner)
B fer mutton
C fer yourself
D fer dumb
E fer brick (or E fer Braun, going back to WWII)
F fer vescent
G fer crying out loud!
H ?
I fer Novello
J fer oranges

and so on. There were several versions, but all seemed to have one letter in common:

P fer relief!

Hmm - tricky one, I suppose we could just get away with T is for Turds that are floating within - at this time of night, but certainly no more
