A drill stand for a cordless drill?

Whenever I drill holes in stainless on board I tend to snap loads of drill bits because of the motion of the boat and my consequently poor control of the perpendicularity of the drill with the work piece. At home I use a pillar drill and of course have no (well, fewer) problems.

What I need is a drill stand - although a small pillar drill in the forepeak isn't completely out of the question - does anyone know if you can buy them for cordless drills?

I know that a Dremel comes with, or at least one can get, a stand, but I need something more substantial capable of drilling 6 or 8mm dia. It might be even better if the stand can be moved to clamp to whatever is being drilled, eg the mast.

I used to have a primitive stand made by Black & Decker which fitted a mains drill, but have never seen one for a cordless (I have a Hitachi professional cordless, but am prepared to buy a new one and relegate the Hitachi from boat to home use).

Things that clamp to drills tend to fit a standard-sized (though not sure what the size actually is) collar behind the chuck. I don't remember seeing many (or any?) cordless drills with such a collar.

Small benchtop pillar drills can be had for £20 or so from Lidaldi from time to time, if you have mains available. If you have a suitable workshop space on board to mount it in then I'm rather envious :)

The American version has an inbuilt chuck & shaft - ideal for a cordless drill

But I can't find one in the UK.

There was one of those ad's for wonder-kit tools on Sky recently, a kit with a cordless power pack which went on a drill, bench saw, pillar drill, etc etc; it actually looked pretty good but was I think around £300.

Sorry not much use as I don't remember the make - it wasn't anything I'd heard of - but I suppose it shows such things exist, anything via google ?

I can't seem to post images with the new forum, but maybe this might suit ?
