Neat little promotional video apart from....
..that that bloody irritating background music, might one suggest that the majority of folks likely and able to afford to park in that marina are highly unlikely to be choosing this marina over elsewhere courtesy of this audio din .
No doubt the " Ad" agency employed by MDL decided that the image to be promoted was to attract young go ahead thrusting types, most probably also employed in "Ad" agencies.
Some young "Turk" given the job decided a thudding soundtrack would attract these types in droves, whereas most inhabitants of the marina would prefer to listen something from Beethovens Moonlight Sonata as they hide on their boats from work/wives/kids and other woes of the world ?

I suspect the majority of folks likely and able to afford to park in that marina aren't watching YouTube videos on a Thursday morning.

Interesting, I barely noticed the music at all.

Music choice is a very personal thing.

The music is probably some generic royalty-free thing. It's incredibly hard to get any kind of good music onto Youtube without falling foul of their rules unless you are actually a composer.

I should probably add that "Anya" is one of my daughter's friends, and that my SC35 features in the video if you look carefully.
It's all a bit local 🙃

All I seem to hear from MDL staff these days is how many staff they seem to turn over , I suppose there is nothing wrong by bettering one’s self , plus how understaffed they are in the yards when it’s winter time with lift out duties.

it sounded like she has a busy day…probably why they employ women…no young man could accomplish that much in a day

A lot of the jobs are probably seasonal….students doing summer work…with just a small core staff year round

A job I want to do part time when I retire (from profession..not working) Funny how after having a stressful career, you see the upside to a simple job.

…..this is not a job for anyone on this forum…the last thing you want when radioing a marina is a pedant on the other end 😱😜🥰

They are actually not exactly seasonal.
The rota might be a bit thinner in Winter, but not by much - it’s when maintenance happens.
But they do spend more time indoors if it’s rain going sideways.

Incredible that the entire site is run by one single person all on her own! Do they close it when she has a day off?

It always amazes me that no U.K. marina provides mooring assistance ( lines etc ) whereas every med Marina without exception does.

Sardinia even had tenders to give you the bow lines.
They do if you ask, most don’t and can manage ok.

They have other staff that do the same job and work different shifts, just like most other companies do. I have stayed at Sparkes many times and there’s usually plenty of staff there.

Is that to do with the difficulty of stern to Med mooring...as compared to coming along side in the UK ?

Cannot recall ever getting any assistance in Cala d Or...or for that matter in Nice.
Perhaps it depends on boat size. ?

I never get any assistance in any of the marinas I use in majorca, unless I specifically request it on arrival, but I never do, our boat is small enough that help is not really needed.

I think the staff do know a larger boat is likely to benefit from some assistance from the quay vs a smaller boat, so I think they will come out to larger boats by default.

don't come to the east, you wont like it J :p
you do get your stern lines picked by the fellow boaters next to you (and you inevitably do the same when a new boat comes!) but you use your anchor. That's more fun tbh when anchors tangle and you have to move out and back in...
