Despite a slow start to Saturday we, well actually Lee, managed to get a long list of small jobs finished.
First up was the LED replacement bulbs for the cabin. What we though would be a five minute bulb out bulb in job wasnt quite so easy as half of them were wired up the wrong way around. Easily sorted though with a bit of bending of prongs. They give out a different light to the halogen bulbs they have replaced but it is a very acceptable light level and vastly reduces the power consumption.
Next up was the batteries. We had to install a second battery box to take the additional batetry which meant Liam drilling two holes in the engine room floor. We were both listening for the water ingress but gladly it didnt happen. So batteries installed we managed to have an evening of heat with no worries on Saturday and still have ample power for the heating come Sunday morning.
Next up was the transom gate. Liam took great pleasure in removing the old one, he has never liked it anyway. Before drilling yet more holes in the boat. This time in a safer place. The end result speaks for itself. Much better than the old gate
There are just a couple of small holes to fill where the old hinge fixed in a different position. All jobs finished in ample time to head down to Saxilby to watch Bootleg play at the Sun Inn.
With these jobs finished it was time to start the list for next week. So far we have to fit LED lighting in the cockpit, fit an outdoor 240V socket in the cockpit, wire in the invertor and fix it out of sight and then fit an isolator to isolate the invertor. Its never ending jobs this boating lark.
