" ... now stands at 93" is simply another way of saying that the running total of entrants is currently '93 entrants'.

Yes but can people younger than 93 join in, and do we need to run ? (Arthritis !)

There isn't any upper age limit (afaik), and "running total" doesn't have anything to do with physical exercise - it means a temporary total - not the final one.
Yes, I understand it. Its childish, mischievous entertainment on my part and I must apologise.
Did you ever watch the Christmas edition of “The Good Life” Well, remember Margo.
Back to LHN post.
93 entrants for the 2010 so far and there’s a year to go yet. This is also the big one. I was surprised at the high proportion of starters to entrants in the JAC08. 42 starters.
The “Jester” spirit is obviously very alive and been “welling up” in many a sailor just waiting for this opportunity. I think a number of entrants will include some “FOS” people but it seems that there will be “ALOT” at the start line. I hope they ALL take the sailing, and preparation VERY seriously. I can just imagine the Coast Guard watching the little ships crossing the start line and the young, new lad asking “and where are all those little yachts going Sir?” and the officer in charge saying “America lad, America”
“But, But Sir,” “Yes Lad, I know, they look small from here, but close up there even smaller!”
And to explain ! (not to LNH, I think LNH understands)
I accidently wrote LHN on my previous post when I should of wrote LNH.

Commiserations, LNH. I hope you won't withdraw your name or say goodbye. Doesn't seem right somehow. I've been planning and working on this for two years, and still consider it odds against making the start. Anything can happen. And if it does, it's just rotten luck. Chin up.
Robin.

Somebody kindly has emailed to me explaining she is the English sense of humour.
If you can't draw the picture, feed the crayons to the small dog in the corner who may or may not eat them !)
