Absolutely! Winter is for planning jobs, revising the "to do" list on the basis of constantly changing priorities, and contemplating warmer weather.

It's a dynamic situation. First you pratt about cleaning everything which will need doing again before launch date, then you spend half the winter listing all the jobs you plan to do, finally you cross off everything that would stop her from floating and then work 24/7 to get ready to launch!

You're right ..... we always spend a weekend in October cleaning and polishing. By January we always wonder why we bothered. Especially after I have removed panels, taken bits home for repair etc etc. It's not like it makes the cleaning job any easier in the spring

The 2 or 3 big jobs are fine. It's the 99 small jobs that trip you up. It's surprising how few jobs get crossed off the list after a hard day of work on the boat. I tend to do jobs in parallel these days .... There's always something needed that you dont have (tools, parts or thinking time)

I saw the title and thought

"lucky bugger, he's only got 101 things on his list!"

Surely you know this rule:-----

The Rule of Three's:
Any project an owner attempts on a boat will cost three times as much and take three times as long to complete as the original estimate.
In the course of working on the project three other projects will be added to the 'thing to do' list each having its own Rule of Three's.
Any attempt to incorporate the Rule of Three's into your project's estimates will result in a further tripling of your original estimate.

Absolutely - next thing as launch date looms is 3 lists;

Must do before afloat

Must do once afloat before going anywhere

Would be nice to do before going anywhere if delayed by weather...
