Thanks for that. The nearest link to cope with the line I have. I think the statements about 'it maybe impossible to bury the cover' will probably be the big issue. As in the other helpful suggestions, I think will go down the stitching/seizing route.

Only diameter as 1.87mm. I guessed ID is probably 18.77mm. As they are very cheap I have ordered 20.35mm as well. Note these are imperial sizes. Also link is for EPDM rubber. If you intend to lubricate with grease use Niton/Viton rubber instead. Same ebay supplier offers both types of...
