Strike a light- Match is Matchless
JFM,
Sorry we missed you yesterday, but the Fairline staff were so good, lettings us wander round at our leisure. Stunning boat. A great use of space, lots of lovely touches everywhere. Really, a home from home.
I though the engine room was a dream...
Here here! I thought for a brief moment I might be a lone voice as regards the varnished decks.
I wonder what 'MapisM' is going to say? - can't wait!
Stuart
Nice as that photo is, unless I am very much mistaken, it's not teak, and has not been varnished, it's been stained & sealed. Which just goes to prove, you do not like the weathered look either. BTW is it yours?
I will agree that a highly varnished finish would be slippery in the wet. But it is...
Thumbs up for varnished deck
A stunning boat, made all the more by that varnished deck. I have never understood this appeal of silver/grey of teak decks. I thought only yotties liked that. So it is quite dissapointing to find the MB fraternity thinking the same.
Think how out of place a none...
Totally agree. 7 years is far too long for battery life. Even if they can be recharged , their capacity will be significantly lower than new.
I went thro this painfull process some years ago. Bought new Elecsol batteries, which unfortunately got knackered by my old Cetek semi intelligent...
I can recommend CTEK, a Swedish company who do a large range of intelligent chargers, for a variety of different voltages. In fact I believe Halfords sell one of theirs @ £99.
I bought 2 some 2 years ago, 1 large 24V - 15A for my main battery bank and a small 5A one for the generator battery...
As much as it pains me to say this, I totally agree with Gludy. This thread is about an idea. How it is conveyed is totally irrelevant? We are not talking about a promotional video that could go on prime time TV.
Methinks you've been tucking into too many sour grapes over Xmas
I am still not sure you fully understand how product development works. From a man in a garden shed, to the biggest companies, a large slice of development costs are done at the conceptual stage, where ideas are fabricated and tested to see if the concept works. This continues with several...
I did note from his last but one post, that he says "Theoretical discussion does not help"
from which I strongly suspect there has been no theoretical design, and all that has happened, is a first stab practical 'Solution' which appears to give improved results.
I think this forum may well...
Having watched this thread with interest, I think I can explain why the outer face of the impellor is destroyed more quickly than the inside one.
Firstly, the inside face, is against what amounts to a lump of metal ie a casting, which has a significantly higher thermal mass than the outer...
It is precisely the reason I am commenting on the ladders, because I DO have an older flybridge boat with a staircase, which I wouldn't swap for anything. Having said that it is only 5 steps, as it is on an aft cabin.
So clearly you are concerned enough to chaperone your children up & down the...
My reference to the ladder, was about being in a lumpy sea and the thought of them coming down, which is the more dangerous situation. Let's take the scenario that your child wants a wee. I am sure you would not them go down those ladders by themselves, with the boat pitching and rolling. At...
I would agree about the Princess on build quality and performance. However both have, from my point of view, a highly dangerous access to the flybridge, ie via a ladder. At sea in lumpy weather, the thought of anybody trying to get down below quickly & safely, fills me with dread, especially...
I would echo Adrian's reply. To get on the plane with those engines will be a struggle. Even on the plane in a lumpy sea, you will have nothing left to force through oncoming wavefronts. This means you would have to go at displacement speed, ie 8 knts & will be very uncomfortable in a lumpy...
