Penton Hook’s put its petrol price up from £1.64 to £1.84 in the space of a week. Shepperton did the same over the Easter Hols.
Given that the high street pump price hasn’t really risen recently, how can they justify that?
Either way, Penton lost my business at the weekend. Pulled up to fill...
Fab to read how much you enjoyed your trip and the being on the river. We were out Cookham/Windsor stretch over that Easter weekend and it was glorious. Sounds like you need to plan your next trip over!
Went to Penton Hook Yacht Club earlier for a pint and it was shut.
Sign on the door: “Closed unit further notice”
What’s the story? Was quite a nice stop off for a beer and bit of food.
There is another one of his floating eyesores hogging about 3 moorings on the lay by at Sunbury lock too. Causing real probs yesterday. Waiting boats all over the place. Surely EA will have to shift it?
That one at Weybridge is pretty grim too!
Cheers...those moorings aren't cheap, are they?!
What the deal with them - are they at the site or do you have to make your way there to/from the boat?
Hi Richard - depends on where you're planning on mooring - but petrol is easier than the Broads and available from a a few of the marinas. Expect to pay £1.56 a litre for it though. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
Where are you looking at putting the boat?
From our trips this summer:
Thames Court, Shepperton - good for a pint, skip the food (very average). Only pub I've ever been to where people queue in a line for the bar!
Red Lion, Shepperton - new jetty but you have to cross the busy road for a beer. Food good though.
Swan / Anglers, Walton -...
