Meaco DD8L Junior dehumidifier heater fan motor

Not being knowledgeable about electric motors that possibility had not occurred to me. If one YJ48 motor is dimensionally similar to another that should be possible. Thanks very much for that suggestion.

Meaco DD8L Junior dehumidifier heater fan motor

I have managed to trace the fault on my dehumidifier to the heater fan motor which is badged as - YJ48/100E 230VAC 50Hz. I can find YJ48 motors on EBay and Amazon but the shaft profile is proving to be a problem. Most are just a round profile but the one I require is 27mm long with a D profile...

Arriving Geurnsey late in the day

If you are not making progress according to your passage plan then you are unlikely to be making your tidal gate for the Alderney race. If that is the case don’t attempt Guernsey (unless you sail very fast/have powerful engine) but pick up a mooring in Braye harbour, Alderney and then set off...

    Tollesbury fleet

If you anchor to the north of Great Cob island you will stay afloat but if you venture further upstream towards Old Hall Creek you will take the ground at springs. Perfectly do-able as I used to moor a twin keeler there and much quieter than the south channel.

    Seafire over Harwich today

There was a Sea Vixen which had a similar outline to the Vampire. He may have meant that plane and said Seafire by mistake.

Tollesbury - NOT for navigation... sort of

Ah yes, written a long time ago!! Mr. Kemp is a very good friend of mine and still an active resident of Tollesbury. Your photo "looking forward to the next green" is the shallowest part of Woodrolfe Creek if you straight-line it between the two. A gentle curve to port between them will keep...

Question on shipping lanes between Southwold/Lowestoft and Ijmuiden

Hi Aidancoughlan, Don't have all the books and charts to hand but, from what I can make out on your attached chart, points 1 & 2 are on "deep water routeing" for ships and are not part of a TSS therefore rule 10 does not apply. It may be advisory to cross at right angles to make best progress...

    Windfarms off Westerschelde new situation

Your approach to the Westerschelde will be to the south of the wind farm area - roughly on a line of the Gootebank East Cardinal. I usually pick up the port hand marks of the deep water shipping channel and follow those in. Paul.

Calling all east coast weather Guru's....this sounds worrying eh........

When crossing the North Sea this is a good site http://www.dmi.dk/en/hav/#northsea Click on vind (wind) and vindretning (wind direction) The wind speeds are m/s so multiply by two for knots. In the blue - ok. Green - getting iffy. Anything else - sit under a tree! Hope this helps, Paul.

    Cleaning Iroko

No sanding required!!......... Boracol 10 available here http://www.diyrefurb.co.uk/buy/boracol-10rh_67.htm . Consistency of water, simply apply with a paint brush when there are a couple of dry days forecast as it needs to soak in. Doesn't have an obvious immediate effect but you will notice...

    Holding Tank yuk

Would suggest Pela pump is your first approach. If you manage to extract anything I believe Tollesbury has a portapotti type disposal point which you could use until you've extracted all you can. I do voluntary work for the Tall Ships Youth Trust and always fall for unblocking heads/holding...

    SW Sunk Crossing

Crossed the SW Sunk at 07:00 BST on Saturday 23rd May when Tideplotter shows 2.73m above CD at Whitaker Beacon. Remained on the rumb line between the waypoints and saw a least actual depth of 6.77m, therefore 4.04m above CD so as near as makes no difference to the 3.9m shown on the chartlet...

    SW Sunk Crossing

Hi All, Hopefully will be using the swatchway on Saturday on the way to the Calais Rally. Has anyone been through in the last few weeks can update on depths found? Thanks in advance, Paul.

    Seen on the Crouch yesterday

AFAIK they have to comply with col regs same as any other power driven vessel. I flew on one of the old Beaver seaplanes out of Vancouver Harbour and they don't get any preferential treatment over other vessels.
