    Sunseeker 23 Daycab

That was my average consumption, used to cruise at 20 + knots, the fuel tank capacity is 50 gallons (227L). Trying to remember what RPM I cruised at - age related problem.

    Sunseeker 23 Daycab

I am sorry to say I don't have any experience with the 270 leg, maybe some one else on here may do. Regarding the mileage I used to calculate 2 miles to the gallon (4.55L) Once I had modified my 23 there was nothing I would change, had heating, hot water and knew everything about the structure...

    Sunseeker 23 Daycab

Sorry I have not been able to give advice, have been a bit busy. One question I have to ask, are you sure those are 280 outdrives, I stand to be corrected but they look like 270's to me. Briefly you need to check the spray rails for cracking especially where the bulkheads are although it looks...

    Sunseeker 23 Daycab

Thanks for the pictures, I can see she is a pre 80 model, the stainless engine vents give that away. One thing I notice is the very high antifoul line at the stern, does it really sit that low in the water? Mine was nowhere near that, probably at least 250mm lower.

    Sunseeker 23 Daycab

I had a text from another forum member just saying "I have a feeling there is going to be a big post on mby" So before we start just confirm you have a 23DC with twin engines, are they the 140's and the outdrives are 280's single prop. Just in case I know the boat already what is the name of...

    VP 280 Lifting mech query

You would not be touching the reverse lock mechanism when installing the outdrive apart from checking it all works correctly when finished, there is an adjustable rod to check clearance, although I never had to adjust mine over 18 years. Was the reverse latch mechanism removed and stripped down...

    VP 280 Lifting mech query

Hi The lifting part is done with an electric motor on the inside transom shield, it's a real simple system, never had any problem with mine for 18 years. regarding the lock down when going into reverse, you need to look at the reverse latch mechanism, there are 2 outer springs which are...

Kad 32 inlet manifold "Big Bolts"

"number 6 already has the charge pressure sender in/on it" Not on the ones I have seen, they have just been blanking caps. So do you have a gauge to show the manifold pressure? As mentioned above, any blank on the manifold will do, just go for one that you can get at.

Kad 32 inlet manifold "Big Bolts"

Not sure what you mean when you say the one next to number 6, I removed the plug that is not a problem to get at on the inlet manifold on a KAD32, there were no pipes in the way, straight on with a socket. There were no senders or anything like that.

Kad 32 inlet manifold "Big Bolts"

Number 6 is the one is the one to remove.

UJ bellows change via upper gearbox on 290 dp

The way to refit the exhaust bellows is as follows (well it works for me!) Fit bellows to engine end/transom shield, ensure bellows correctly oriented, it is marked 'engine end' and 'up' on flange of bellow, fit hose clip (jubilee clip type - trade name but everyone call them it) Note I have...

    Beaulieu Boat Jumble this Sunday

Watch out for cheap anti foul, talking to some one who bought several tins of a well known manuafacture, when he went to use it a few weeks later found they were full of sand! The guy on the stand had a lot of tins he was selling. Of course it will rain!!

    Lumpy idle - Mercruiser 5.7L V8 petrol

You beat me to it about the petrol, I remember my next door neighbour at home had a speedboat with a 150 on the back, start of the season would not even get on the plan, spent money and ages trying to sort it out, changed the fuel and problem 'sorted' The fuel was last seasons, so less that 1...
