    Swinging mooring yorkshire

There were a few moorings available just outside Hull , on the Humber towards Goole but I can't remember the sail club. I do remember it was very cheap, at around less than £200 a year for a 23ft boat. Other options would be Goole marina , or Scarborough as others have said. Scarborough outer...

Scam adverts, what can they gain

A lot of the "Fake " listings on Ebay, Apolloduck etc are usually after your name , address, contact number and email, all of which are used in phishing scams, the ones asking for actual money seem to be fading away although some exists. Seen people , list 100+ cars, boats, bikes etc with no...

Installing inverter - MCB+RCD single RCDO

No point in fitting anything above 16a as in the event of overload you will simply trip the mcb in the pontoon pillar. Most pontoons are less than 16a to begin with, usually 10amp in my experience to reduce nuisance tripping on the main pontoon supply . Anything over a type B will still trip on...

    Orca attack

Very few shark attacks are deliberate attacks on humans, to the shark , especially when on a surf board and wearing black wet suits, we look and paddle like injured seals, especially when seen from below. Was wondering if the slow moving yachts' with there dark painted fin keels look like a...

    Oil filters

Yes but this is down to the thread on the tap plate itself and nothing else. The body material, end cap, retainer plate, spiral wound inner core and the pleated materials will all be identical, its the threads that are roll formed (not cut) that are proprietary, although these can still be...

    Oil filters

Wix is now owned by Mann & Hummel as of 2018. The quality going forward from that date will be comparable to M&H OEM Specs, I cannot say the same for pre 2018.

    Oil filters

No, not possible, the tap plates are seamed onto the body at the assembly process. If the tap plate is different I would suggest it's either a replica or non oem.

Buying second hand sails pro's and cons= value for money

Genoa just needs a wash and UV strip replacing however FB main is like a pair of grannies bloomers swinging in the wind. Boat is nearly 30 year old and wouldn't surprise me if its the original the boat came with.

Buying second hand sails pro's and cons= value for money

We've both done Day Skipper (Theory & Practical) , essential navigation and I've done yacht master as well. The practice is for getting used to a boat of that size with just the two of us onboard instead of the usual crew of 6 or 7 we generally have on board. learning to sale isnt the problem...

Buying second hand sails pro's and cons= value for money

Having recently purchased my first sailing yacht after owning 11 MB's I now have a list of new jobs to do that I've never had to do before. One of the main ones is the purchase of some replacement sails. My plans for this boat are to "do it up" over a period of four to five years but still...
