    Upgrading an 11 AC alternator

Hi My Rampart 32 has two Perkins engines, one a 4107 and the other a 4108. Two battery banks, one with a single 110aH battery and the other with a linked pair of two 100 aH batteries. It look like I have to replace both alternators (currently gone for testing) or the regulators and it might be...

    Epoxy paste

Thanks for the replies. I think ED 205 was produced by Resoltech but it is not currently listed on their website. But it was a lot cheaper than Plastic Padding, and seem to adhere better to wood (I've tried both). I also do like the fact that it is a paste already and I don't have to mess about...

    Epoxy paste

Some time ago I bought some epoxy paste, ED 205. I believe it was made by a French company. I saw it reviewed in Classic Boat magazine. Does anybody know if it is still available or if there is an equivalent (I like the fact that it already had the thickener mixed in and all you had to do was to...

    Which Handheld VHF?

I know the topic has been covered before but what is the preferred handheld VHF at the moment? The Standard Horizon HX750E has good reviews but I can't find anything about battery life. Other manufacturers give this. Do I need 6 watts? It'll only be used on inland waterways.

    epoxy on old timber

I recently used a water based epoxy that is not dependent on wood being dry. It is called resolcoat and is available from UK supplies including, I think, Traditonal marine supplies who advertise in Classic Boat mag. I put onto damp ply and it really worked hardening up the soft wood. Joe

    Fuse panle for Rampart

I am looking for a replacement fuse panel on my 40 year old Rampart 32. The current panel holds four fuses and also has two isolator switches. It has a battery status light that glows green when the batteries are fully charged and then changes colour through yellow, orange and red as the...

    Old fuse panel

As I said I am trying to keep the 'classic' feel to the internal layout so I'd prefer not to fit a voltmeter. Thanks for the reply anyway.

    Subscription problems

And it' not the post. Last Thursday I purchased two items on ebay from different people. One arrrived yesterday and the other today. Both posted in England. I wonder if any CB people read these posts? Maybe they could repond or get the subs department to get their act together.

    Subscription problems

I am still having severe problems with my subscription to CB. I have now not received the January issue and the subs department are not responding to my emails. I have missed issues over the past year and others have been up to three weeks arriving - after publication date. And IPC now want...
