Upgrading an 11 AC alternator

Hi

My Rampart 32 has two Perkins engines, one a 4107 and the other a 4108. Two battery banks, one with a single 110aH battery and the other with a linked pair of two 100 aH batteries. It look like I have to replace both alternators (currently gone for testing) or the regulators and it might be a good time to consider something more modern than the Lucas 11 AC with external regulator that are currently fitted. Any suggestions from folks as to what is a good replacement and where to get these.

For that battery capacity a couple of 55a would do fine. I would look at those used by Volvo Penta such as Paris Rhone. Reliable and easy to get replacements from EBay etc.

Don't touch he SEV Marchal 35a - next to useless !

Lucas 18 acr alternators will fit your existing brackets and come with automotive type internal regulators. About £50
