Thanks for your thoughts, Julians. I was leaning towards your way of thinking, but the supplier has been most helpful, arranging for collection and replacements. So hopefully some perfect new ones on the way.
Bought some new stainless steel H series Volvo props to replace the NiBrAl G series on my DPH drive.
One of the blades on the four bladed prop has a small defect..
I’m wondering if this is significant and should I reject it. There’s also a tiny nick down towards the left in the photo. They’re...
Well done Richard for getting a boat. Richard is my son, so a real chip off the old block. Hoping I get get some time to accompany him on his first trip down river.
Hi Julians, I had exactly the same problem with my DPH. Turned out to be a stiff cable, I would say that's almost certainly your trouble. Mine lasted about 6 years, I think it prudent to replace every 5 years. It's not a huge cost when the boat is out of the water.
I can recommend Nauticool of Poole. I have a very obscure American system, the manufacturer is no long in business, they were very helpful and fixed mine when it went wrong.

Thank also for your safety tips, but I wouldn't dream of tackling a high pressure...
Yes, thanks, that's what I'll do if pressure switch doesn't turn up. It's just that it's another component in the system that can, potentially, go wrong.
My aircon packed up about 2 years ago. Compressor won't run. I've been struggling to find someone to look at it. It's about 10 years old, made in Florida, and the makers have gone out of business.
Anyway I've found an excellent chap who knows these systems inside out. He's disgnosed a failed...
I had this once, but mine was so bad both bolts 27 and 28 were bent, and bearing carrier 21 was distorted. Water entered the oil, milky, so all seals bearing and carrier had to be replaced. Volvo accepted as a warranty claim so don't know cost, a lot I suspect.
Yours probably not as bad, but I...
