I have a new NASA 532-NMEAMHU masthead unit I bought to use with my Raymarine autopilot as my B&G Hydra had no NMEA output. As soon as I had bought it I was offered an NMEA B&G display unit and so the NASA is now surplus to requirements.
I did connect it up just to see if it worked and it...

I am in agreement that most boats are not designed for blue water cruising, nor do they need to be as not that many venture offshore for extended periods in comparison to the number built. Including watertight bulkheads and compartments has a cost and may be uncompetitive in the market place...
This is my experience of the situation.
If the seller has the Titre De Navigation (the 'Orange Book') and the boat is still registered in France then the TVA has been paid. Proof for others than the French is what is required.
If you buy the boat then it has to be removed from the French...
What a grand day out it was.
We were in the first part of the flotilla but could not see what was going on when the organisers were on the radio saying that some twerp was overtaking everyone and even trying to pass the Calmac ferry that was leading the boats. I seem to recall the organisers...
Par, I have a Sharki if you wish PM me I will endeavour to answer any question you may have.
The Sharki is a sailing yacht and not a motorsailer, sure it is not a fast or close winded as my old First 405 or many of my previous boats but the performance is more than adequate and very easy on...
Go to Les, he is second to none, I have worked with him. We repaired my Beneteau together when I had to fire off the incompetent idiots at Levkas who were incapable of doing the standard de-laminated keel structure repair.
To be sure if you can see a crack then it extends well beyond the...
We had a look a few weeks ago and the staff were friendly and helpful. The cost, I seem to recall was around £2500 for a 12mt boat, could be wrong there though!
It's a bit industrial around the area but there is everything within easy striking distance, supermarket, chandlers and chippy.

Snooks' and 30boat, indeed the bolts will be taken through the structural interior moulding and hull effectively clamping the two together in this vintage of build, earlier models such as the 1980s First 405 had the bolts going through just the hull and not the interior moulding but the hulls...
The most pressing reason for liferaft use is generally fire on board, not extreme conditions, in that scenario it makes sense for rapid release from a position likely to be unchallenged by the initial outburst of fire and fumes.
Well you have now, Me. I and the owner had to abandon a Dufour...
My old friend and I are clearing out our lofts and garages of gear bought for various projects and not used. Most is new and unused. Carriage will be at cost, probably with Hermes as they seem to be most reasonable.
Please PM me if interested.

Don't belive the bull that Eberspacher spout, THEY ARE REPAIRABLE, it is just that the agents do not have the expertise to do the job. I took our D3L for repair to the local service agent in Preston and they said it was dead and to buy a complete new heater.
I tested the box as far as I...
