The trouble is VHS wont work mostly inland, a hand held will work a lot less.
This is not to say that you should not have one, But VHS is line of sight, so it wont work round bends.

Trees & sap are an issue at PD, try to get a mooring between the bridge and the lock, i.e. beyond the overhanging trees. The bridge is loud, but it does go quiet at night, or get your fun box out and you won't hear anything.
I don't like the ladders, the dog doesn't either. Try the crab salad...
