    Duoprop versus single prop sterndrive

I will reduce prop walk, but doesn't eliminate it on a single engine boat. The positive of a duoprop is that it has more grip. The negative would be if you ding it, it's more expensive than an single prop to repare or replace.

To wee or not to wee !!!!

Don't you just lift up the saddle on a jetski? :)

To wee or not to wee !!!!

As with every boat, it comes down to preparation and common sense. As I mentioned before, I have a 28ft bowrider in the Med. I started with a 22ft when I moved over from sailing. Never ever did I get water over the bow. I do check the weather forecast, waves etc before going out, but have been...

Im clueless: Looking for a nice bowrider- Mar Menor.

I keep her in the marina from Easter to about end of October, and then have her dry stored for the winter. This year is different of course....she's still on dry land.

Im clueless: Looking for a nice bowrider- Mar Menor.

I'm further south (Estepona) and have a 28ft bowrider. I bought her in Spain which made registration etc easy. I have my ICC. The sea can kick up quite a fuss in the afternoon, so the idea of a RIB is not a bad one. Most marinas have both petrol and diesel. When thinking about a marina, have a...

    Weather apps

Your location is stated as Denmark - I have no particular sailing experience in that area. I use Windfinder Pro which has always been accurate and detailed in terms of wave height, direction, momentum, wind etc. It is subscription based.

THOSE OF US WITH BOATS IN THE MED

I wanted to walk to my marina (Estepona) on Sunday to check the boat before flying back home. I was told by 3 patroling Policia Municipal officers in a very "convincing" way to return home and stay there. The latest news on Saturday evening was that the country would go in lock down from Monday...

    Pershing

Apologies to the OP as I don't want to highjack your post....but curious how the new pershing 5X stacks up against the older models. I know the 5x is available in IPS so clearly aimed at broadening the potential customer base. Has Pershing kept its build quality and seakeeping credentials over time?

A tour of marinas in Spain - where do you suggest I go?

Just out of curiosity, which ones are you referring to?

    New to sailing...really new

The Chaparral 250 will not trigger the immatriculation tax.... On that size of boat you will struggle to fit a tender...unless you deflate it after every use. I guess you could put it on the bow if you're really motivated, but then think about outboard and petrol for the tender.....you have only...

A tour of marinas in Spain - where do you suggest I go?

I'm currently based in Estepona. Positives: it's an hour drive from Malaga airport and about 40 minutes from Gibraltar airport so easy to get to and lots of choice in terms of flights, cheaper than Sotogrande (and a LOT cheaper than Puerto Banus), decent chandlery, boat yard, lots of bars and...

    New to sailing...really new

I keep my boat in the south of Spain. ICC has already been mentioned. Bear in mind that if you are/become a Spanish tax resident and/or register the boat in Spain, you’ll pay a 12.5% immatriculation tax on boats above 8 meters.

R35/F33 Am I the only one...

No no no sir...no connection to either brand. Talking about whether it is "worth" the difference in price: first of all it's difficult to use that word in the context of boating :) My point was to get a sense for how different the two boats are, given that they seem to target the same kind of...
