Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable Mastervolt Technician? Based at Walton Marina and having waited 6 weeks for the last guy to run some checks he now tells me he is too busy and to find someone else, great, 6 weeks wasted not being able to have any weekenders as batteries go...
Seems like slim pickings Gosport wise then, marina guy mentioned the Castle as a maybe but best bet over gun wharf way... Thankfully plenty on board so hit the stocks instead and had a reall nice lunch in the light ship. Surprised at David J's comments about it being poor, we were a party of 7...
Afternoon all! Just arrived here and have no idea where anything is, although we are booked in to the lightship for lunch, can anyone recommend any pubs for pre lunch drinks?
Been enjoying our time on the south coast having a break from the tidal Thames, although with so much going on in our social calendar it's hard to fit everything in. Had a 'half and half' weekend lined up with some rag and stick friends this weekend just gone, they were going to get the stinky...
I'm not a big poster but I love being part of this fantastic community, I can't see many places pulling this sort of thing off, which is why we have worldwide posters. I was so happy to have my new burgee on my boat today, albeit maybe not up to original standard, but really, in the over all...
Just over a week or so Tone, the boat in its natural environment, just a tad more thirsty than being on the Thames... BTW, looking at getting another tipsy burgee, what size did/ you fly as I think it's the same size I had off my light mast?
Heading off the Folly Moorings shortly to see what's happening, or not as the case may be, certainly cracking weather for us mobo's! Now, where did I put that sunscreen... Keep an eye out for Oudrageous, visiting from the Thames and our first full weekend and what a weekend, can you tell I'm...
Had to take the covers off our boat for transport to Ocean Village only to find a number of zips kaput and also some stitching has given up the ghost. Unfortunately the boat is now naked and in need of a recommendation to replace the zips and a small repair, very grateful for recommendations!
Had same problem with one of our KAD300's, it used to be a very intermittent problem that would eventually clear itself if you shut down all power for about 15 minutes or so. However, a few weeks back had the same problem but this time more permanent and they eventually diagnosed that an engine...
Thanks for the tips. Have done some sailing, but wouldn't consider myself experienced. I have no problems with doing the actual practical parts, I think that is important. I just wasn't overly keen on having to go through all the theory part again in regards to navigation when I have already...
Thanks for the info guys, but in a nutshell seems like doing the whole day skipper thing again... Was hoping it might bypass some of what was already covered in the power course, mainly the navigation/ theory. Will give Hamble a call though, thanks for the recommendation. We are booked with...
Not sure if the best place to ask, but ask I shall?! I have my day skipper power and looking at getting my day skipper sail as planning a sailing holiday, for something a bit different, in the Med later in the year and wondering what is involved? Not sure if you have to repeat what was covered...
