The statement that you can not control a boat without the wheel on out-drives is not correct, I have only had out-drives and on the tidal river, where this boat is going, you do not always need to use the wheel.
You will have to check your clearance under Hammersmith bridge if you are near high water. As for maneuvering, with two out-drives you can leave the wheel and use drive only to turn the boat. You will find that on the tidal river you will not use the bow thruster much because with the tide...
You have only been there five minutes, flag officer already!! My response, no pontoon mooring no voluntary work. Lots of responsibility as well. Good luck.
My club is suffering a drop off in members, we have facilities, moorings, dry dock, workshop, bar and club house. The only dress notice we have is no wellingtons or overalls

Greenwich should be easy if you use the tides properly. Good luck, and enjoy the trip.

are issues that have to be taken into account as well.

stern drive reliability
My volvo 100 out drives are over forty years old, they get service every other year, oil checked regularly for water ingress and seals replaced when required. There is a picture of them, the props were replaced before she was re-floated. The hull is not bad for a 1968...
