Is the lateest circuit correct?
.
Well spotted, its wrong. Gate should be connected to the cathode and anode to ground.

You would be better off replacing the two SMD components with through hole, it's not worth the inclusion of SMD assembly for just 4 components which could easily be swapped for standard.

I did point out the circuit error at message #12

I gather that there are minimum order constraints on circuit boards - has anyone got spare boards?

JLCPCB have min order or 5 (today anyway), I just roughly priced up 10 -
Boards & surface mount bits assembled > £17
Delivery > £7
LCSC remaining components > £11
Delivery > £7

So about £40 or four quid each for the boards and components.
LEDs > looks like about 50 quid for 250 (gooduns!!)

So about under a tenner a light, then need some 50mm plastic pipe and epoxy or something to fill it up with and some time to put it together.

Then you've a hopefully *very* bright ultra reliable low current auto on/off light.

Some of that ugly work thing going on at the moment so this will prob be put on hold for a while.

But DOH - you should be able to fit 4 circuits on each PCB so that would bring the cost down a bit, can't be bothered to get new quotes again at the moment though :)

Latest PCB - holes to break out for bypassing the photo resistor and wiring in a pot to change the current output.

You csn combine jlcpcb and lcdc delivery which reduces your costs £7!

Apparently not ---

Notice about Combining Shipment with PCBsUpdated:

Due to the export declaration issues, unfortunately, we have to cancel the combination shipping of PCB order since Mar. 11th GMT+8 2019.

Thus, PCB orders and component orders will be shipped separately currently.

As JLCPCB’s sister company, we keep offering our best support to customers from JLCPCB, and shipping discount up to 15$ is offered to the customer who is placing the PCB order:

Though looks like might be a discount in there , not sure if it was in the quote i got.

So not really that interested in selling, but assuming it works as a really bright waterproof ultra reliable auto on/off - what6 sory of price would you budget minded cruisers be willing to pay? 20 quid, thirty? ........

That's really bright!!

LED's just soldered on one side as a test, this one can be a stern light. Pulling about 160mA @ 12.2v.
Didn't really think it would work first time. Who wants one ;)
