Fairly cheap and very cheerful. Not that I mind paying for an expensive meal from time to time, but when there is a crowd who want to eat, drink, be merry, and circulate a lot, a less formal location is much more suitable.

Is there a suitable pub who might have a function room?

I have only stopped in Weymouth once, and we ate in the SeaCow, so I can't be more specific, I'm afraid.

We take the pathfinder club there every year. Last year was very disappointing though - menu choice was limited to steak, steak or mixed grill!

Would advise we check what they have on menu this year - however, other than that, excellent venue.

I have it, on good authority, that BrendanS has a deep seated desire to become intimately aquainted with the cuisine offered by Messrs. Fray Bentos. Maybe a little Cauliflower would aid his digestion too!

No don't know them, but I do know the Ship and I reckon for good pub grub and beer it is excellent.
