I wonder, for example, if the comments section of a YouTube channel is not a healthy place.

Very much so, we get all kinds of weird comments and it can be soul destroying when you're doing your best to produce something.

I think that's a bit strong, it's taking a lot of work but that, perversely, may be to their benefit as it makes for interesting viewing. I do admire their can-do attitude.

I think a lot if youtubers seem to give up soon after buying a cat.

Sam Sails, Wildings, and I liked the two Dave's on "Lee Shores, Lazy Jacks and Lunches" but regrettably they've not put anything out for a year (still worth checking out their old stuff though)

The two Dave's, Lee Shores I did enjoy their banter was great . A lot start off great but can get boring, all doing the same . With all their fancy equipment the quality of the sound seems to have got worse, Lauren Landers as an example.

Fancy equipment isn’t necessary and usually doesn’t improve things. Knowing where to put a mic and remembering to do it are key to sound. We have all kinds of mics and usually the problem is that they’re in a drawer down below or we forgot the dead cat.
