Re: Chilli and the only known cure

"Acshully its not my mouth that's the problem after a hot & spicy meal ... "

Why do you think I recommend keeping the bog roll in the fridge? and for really hot chillis some Savlon as well!

oops, bog roll = toilet paper

Re: Fray Bentos Steak Pies ...

you have my deepest sympathies ... there is no known way of avoiding this fate. preparation beforehand might mitigate the worst consequences and i would recommend that you keep the articles (i am a broken man and can't bear to repeat the dreaded name) away from navigation equipment in a stout container. cf jimi's problems with his electronic compass which could very well have been due to our mutual friend secreting several examples on board ...

bon voyage .. !!

Och .. I would'nt dismiss the nutritional properties of FB lightly .. judging by TK's well upholstered frame ..

undootedly .. and environmentally soond an a'. if you get a little closer to the buoy TK found, you would have seen the inscription "made from recycled FB tins". given that the buoy's colouring matches the FB house colours and other clues, TK is obviously reluctant to impart these snippets of info but i am happy to set the record straight ...........

Re: Chilli and the only known cure

Yea, why not, read my post - they are good for you.

We sometimes play a little game with a big bowl or fresh raw chillis - what you do is mix up a big bowl of the little buggers and set it in the middle of the table then someone picks one out and eats it then the next guy (or girl) picks one out and eats it and so on until someone grabs the water / milk or other favourite cure and declares the game over - They then buy the next round of drinks / pay for the meal or what ever was agreed on before we started. Bit like playing russian roulette except you always live to play another day. Until you have tried it you have no idea of teh sensation. As I said in previous post you know you have a good chilli when even smelling it brings you out in a cold sweat. I have only had one really bad one - smelt it, burst out in a cold sweat, bit into it, juice hit my lips which caught fire (or so they felt) throat constricted, eyes watered, rolling on the floor gasping for breath, sweat pouring off me, licked my lips and found they were physically blistered - no joke 3 hours later I could still taste the ruddy thing but man, what a chilli, took a tray of icecubes with me to the crapper the next morning - Aahhh the memories.

Thats a good thing about eating chillies - makes you appreciate what it is to be alive and not in pain.

Jeez all this talk of food is making me hungry - now where did those little Thai chillies go?......

Indeed .. rumour has it that TK has acquired a cement mixer and is busy churning up 3576 large FBs within it to the required consistency before pasting the mixture on his decks as a environmentally sound teak replacement.

Re: Fray Bentos Steak Pies ...

i hope he opens the cans first? otherwise he would not be able to avail himself of the caulking compound on the top, aka puff pastry, which would have many uses in a Twister of venerable vintage ......

Sounds like you are about to be boarded by a band of Mexican Bandits!

The Mexicans could teach the Greeks a thing or two about making food inedible!

Re: Cauliflowers Dumped

I have e-mailed Kim and suggested he instigate a special new forum to cover all aspects of the imminent cruise.
I have just received his reply and (I quote) 'Excellent idea. From tomorrow all posts on this subject will be dealt with on the Virtual Toilet...'

Re: Cauliflowers Dumped

You've totally missed the bloody point ye eejit!
Come to think of it, so have I.
There's going to be so much hot air you won't NEED THE EBERSPACHER!
Er. so why are you chartering? Won't the old bastid allow you on his boat? I know he's a bit fussy but a train ticket to Oban isnt cheap....

OI!

Wee Jamesie had the invitation to cruise with the 'old bastid' - he has chosen to charter as he is bringing with him the Mother of his Children. Anyway the eberspacher is good news we can all snuggle down with them. She'll be used to the post curry extraneous noises so a few more shouldn't matter
