Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

....on Saturday despite SBS; but thanks to the HM who managed to squeeze in Wiggo, Hagrid and ourselves (with Geoffs lurking in the harbour somewhere!).
Always amazed at how the pubs manage to cater for the influx so well - we went to the King's Head this time with kids and a dog and it was excellent service and nosh.
What a wonderfull weekend on the water - no doubt SBS would have been better.........../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

Great weekend all round. Hagrid has now lost his 'pile mooring virginity', and even got to go swimming in the harbour, after the dog fell overboard.

Predictable Cap Overboard situation on the way in, but to my eternal shame, we lost sight of it after SWMBO forgot the bit about slowing down when approaching the 'casualty'. Hagird saved the day (and the cap), so I promised not to mention either his quote: "I never give my full length", nor Amanda's rather sceptical look.

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

We were in Yarmouth overnight on Saturday. Did you see us?

Couldn't beleive our eyes when we saw the amount of yachts in the Solent on Saturday, so we left at 8:30 Sunday morning (before breakfast) to get through the Solent before the yachts arrived.

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

at that time you had a pretty mirror to fly over in the Solent!

Were you flying a burgee? We were rafted on white 2/3 (second raft in front of you entering the harbour / first off the main quay) - all 3 boats flying forum burgees and Geoffs was there somewhere with his flying too!
The Mountgay didn't even get opened despite my offer to make up a mix with some fresh limes and sugar I just happened to have on board...........later they said - next year I think they meant!
Maybe next time; sorry to have missed you

Did SBS on Saturday - not too bad, though I'm going back sans SWMBO and kids.

We went across to Yarmouth for lunch on Sunday (at the Bugle - v. nice) but you might have gone by then. I must keep more of an eye open! Great run there, and even better back. A super day.

Maybe next time!

Yep, I was the other end of the harbour, squeezed in on the 'beach pontoon'.

May have to do a repeat run this wekend, as daughter missed out last wekend, and she's right niffed!

Off to SIBS tomorrow.

No we wasn't flying a burgee. We was crewing on a friends boat a lagoon 43 cat. What a boat! First time he had moored to posts. We were on 8 & 9 Red or was it 7 & 8 can't remember. He done really well picking his way through all the other boats. Needed a large glass of wine once we had moored.

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

we saw that leave on Sunday mid-morning - dead jealous!

what was it like - I have heard they don't so much 'get up on the plane' as just go quicker! Would you have one in preference to a SealineF43 (for example)?

have to admit that even if you had been flying burgee we would have missed it.

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

Mid Morning it was 8:30! I only had time for a mouthful of coffee then it was on deck for rope duty. Good cruising speed of about 18-20 knots. Very comfortable. Couldn't compare it to a Sealine as I haven't been on one.

Re: Yarmouth wasn\'t empty....

yep mid morning - sun in full glory and the kids running riot on all three boats at once!
or do I gather you didn't have 5 under 11's and a dog on board despite all the space?
