Yamaha 6 hp 4 stroke

Started my outboard yesterday for the first time this year. It ran very poorly and needed about half choke to keep going. Whenever I pushed the choke home she stalled. I am guessing that this is the result of a clogged carb? Our local Techies have a sonic cleaner for the carb, but is there any snake oil that folk here would recommend I try first?

Might try blasting some carb cleaner through the jets but otherwise if you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner go for it.

In the good old days of carbs on cars putting the palm of your hand over the intake briefly a few times revving the engine at the same time was quite effective at clearing jets.
