Are they all on the same computer or separate ones - logging in from work, home, boat?
As far as divorce - well, buying a boat didnt bring us together, as neither of us liked sailing with each other.
Running away to sea is still on MY cards - but not necessarily on my own. Current bloke likes going out on boats, is never sick (big advantage), can steer in small spaces ie marinas, but isnt mechanical, is navigationally challenged, is ageing (arent we all!) and prefers being a passenger. Not sure I can fill these spaces - would be like single handing. Life is full of changes of plan, eh?
When I worked in sailing I used, occasionally, to think longingly of getting ashore and staying there for a while. Sometimes I used to welcome gales that kept us in port (although I was sorry for the crews with their couple of weeks holiday and raring to go) Never regretted NOT making sailing my long term career. Sailing is good, but so are lots of other things.
I can't believe this thread is still going!! It's way down the page and still geting additions.
I'm lucky as my wife has sailed big boats for longer than me, is happy to spend most of our spare time on the boat, doesn't really go shopping or wear makeup and feels that £150 for a new halyard is perfectly justified. She even lets me go on my own sometimes.
How lucky am I? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Family matters have got in the way of sailing a bit this year, but still some good times. Pleasant little cruise southwards for a week earlier in the season - beam reach both ways - how lucky is that? Terribly expensive, though. Bang went a whopping £8 on berthing fees!!!!!! (All on a mooring in Queenborough) Hollowshore was nice - stayed two nights moored alongside a big Kentish smack (they're not as pretty as Essex ones...) and when we tried to pay the gaffer said "no charge, but if you go to the pub, you might leave a little something behind the bar for the lads.......") East Swale as lovely as always - lots of common seal pups in their red/brown fur. Vive la Cote d'Est!
We'll be about again during August and watch out for you.
My Russian lass even though she is often seasick, doesn't like wobbly pontoon fingers ........ BUT she is as keen for us to keep boating as I am .......
We have long discussions about our boats and what to do with them etc.
She especially loves Solent and having a boat there.
Own private mooring now with own canal onto the river in Latvia, won last years Baltsail regatta with Tallinn boat, re-engined UK boat and now had fantastic vacation in July back in Blighty .....
Lass is really enjoying it and loves boats !!!
Life is finally treating me well ..... no money - but who cares if yer happy !!!! 3 boats, 3 cars, 3 acres of estate and private mooring, lovely lass who looks after me, garden tractor to play with when I get bored ..... what else is there ???????
some men have trouble with their partners, so do some women. work it out, live with it or find a new one. i would again point out that twice as many women resort to the last of these.
but don't draw conclusions about the entire (fe)male population from a couple of examples.
