Yachtsmen getting Divorced

Go girl. I thought of answering him myself, but then suddenly found the thought of gracing it with a reply unappealing. Much more exciting is my displacement activity of figuring out the relationship between pragmatist/pessimist/snowleopard. I have to say the whole "sis" thing may be a bluff guys, careful...

Isn't it just a case of multiple personalities? It is common knowledge that sailors do talk to themselves. True experienced sailors do not only talk to themselves, but give their alter ego a different name for proper conversations. Now the top of the world super senior sailors do not only name their other personality, give "it" a different gender (to keep in touch with their female/male side) but are also able to introduce a third person.
Beyond the third person you're up for a new jacket.. the ones with really really long sleeves.....

And no-one thought to tell me this before I married my yachtsman husband..? Looks like I have three options:

1) Beat 'em - annul our marriage on the grounds of mistaken identity.

2) Join 'em - become a catankerous young(ish) wrinkly (easy in the recent sunshine).

3) Join 'em - become an arrogant little shit.

I have to say I may already be some way to achieving number 2 already, so I may go for that. Path of least resistance 'n' all...

As a female skipper who waited 20 fruitless years for my husband to come round to the idea of moving up from dinghies, I took the plunge into yacht ownership on my own but with his full support. Divorce was not necessary but to fulfil your life's dreams you do sometimes have to be selfish. I have found one interesting fact which is that when looking for racing crew the most henpecked husbands make the best (and most obedient) crew. The one that won't follow orders and is always querying my authority is my own not very henpecked one. Obviously it is important to become SHMBO to run a tight ship!

Umm. For 'yachtsmen' read all men. Contemporary marriage revolves around the tedium of political correctness and the social rules devised by the 'Caring Understanding Nineties Types'. The male of the species becomes psychologically castrated - and very boring to his partner. It then becomes completely natural for the female half, upon reaching that 'certain age', to ditch the mere shadow of the swashbuckler she once married and go looking for something a little more exciting.
IMHO but much research done.

As for the divorce bit, my first marriage ended I a sure due to me spending too much time sailing...I think that this one will end due to not enough time sailing!
