Picture in marine Traffic is a cat. Kennex make cats. Marine traffic has wrong statistics I expect12M LOA, with a beam of 3M. unlikely to be a cat

That looks like a Gemini 105. About 11m by 4m.
Other than being a cat and having a roof thing over the helm, it's not a 105.That looks like a Gemini 105. About 11m by 4m.
Sorry for your loss. Does anyone know why he chose to set off in those forecast conditions? This was a long standing member of our sailing club and experienced sailor. The boat was a Pro-Kennex 380.
The boat at appeared to be USA flagged for some reason and out of UK waters so maybe not. Since the boat was lost not sure what they would investigate anyway, not really any lessons to be learnt. As he was British then i assume the MAIB will perform an investigation. At least this means that all the details including why he was out at sea will become clear.
I think you are right about the jurisdiction but wrong about the lessons. The maib would look at the pressures and reasons for leaving when such cinditions were forecast. But i think if US flsgged and outside uk waters.
Good afternoon,The related NavWarning indicates a derelict vessel with ''lots of debris nearby'', including a white liferaft.

According to AIS it hasn't updated its position for 1 month and 11 days. Makes sense as the batteries and instruments would not have stayed on for more than a couple of days.Good afternoon,
Can you still see the location of this vessel please? Can you post a pic? It was due to sink "within hours" when it was found but is apparently still bobbing about - posing a risk to marine traffic.
Thanks.
It's the one right in the middle of the chartlet, coordinates below; official nav warning dated march 6Good afternoon,

Add. Note it says "Re[t]ourne" = misses letter T but means capsized.
First of all, sorry for your loss.Thank you Roberto.
The family of the capsized vessel have been asked to recover it. We have no idea how to go about it or where to start. This location is helpful.
