Hello,

Looking at getting ready to bugger off to the med next year and looking at doing a few courses to assist ref the maintenance etc of our sail boat.

Any suggestions as to ideas, based near the solent ideally, and want to cover the following ideally:
Electrics and electronics.
Engine maintenance and repair.
Fuel systems etc

Ideally with some form of qualification at the end.

So, any ideas?

Cheers

I did a course at Hamble Scool of Yachting last year before setting off for the Med. It was 7 days (from memory) and included rigging, electrics, plumbing, engine maintenance, sail repairs and GRP work. It was good and certainly enjoyable. Some of it inevitably covered stuff I already knew. Attendees included people setting off long term cruising, non boat owners who wanted to be more confident chartering, recent boat purchasers and prospective purchasers and some attending as part of a ‘zero to hero’ courses. Worth A look at the content and also worth booking early as I recall the initial course I wanted was booked well in advance (perhaps it was in the run up to the Arc etc).
