A friend is looking for what she calls 'a pot luck' charter in Thailand.

Not bare boat.

She wants to join a boat as a single, so 'sensible safety' essential.
Not a young raver. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

we did a charter out of phuket with sunsail last year
but that was bare boat
Theres not a big yachty scene there the winds crap at least it was in feb we had 2 decent sails in 2 wks the rest under motor
infact the motor was used so much the alternator fell off
Saying that the scenery in pra nang bay is something else although didnt rate the yacht much the kids wernt keen on the cockoroachs

I suggest you contact staff at Jimmy's bar (The Lighthouse) to place a private wanted ad on the noticeboard there. The Lighthouse in at Ao Chalong Bay - this is the informal yacht club/yachtie centre for private boats based at Phuket. Sunsail are based at the lagoon marina on the other side, but little community there.

Winds depend upon the time of the year - feb is light. June/july better. The King's Cup, in early Dec, is a fab social regatta, fairly likely to get a paying berth. See www.kingscup.com for links.

There's a 60' junk schooner that advertises paying berths too, on http://www.asia-marine.net/discovery.html
