This Punk Turtle That Breathes Through Its Butt Is Now Officially Endangered
The Mary River turtle (Elusor macrurus) is like no creature you've ever seen before, and there's definitely a reason for that.The 40cm-long water turtle - complete with wide nostrils, chin fingers and sometimes a nice algae hairdo - can only be found on the Mary River in Queensland, Australia.
It's also one of the most endangered species on the planet. That's why the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) has now ranked the Mary River turtle 29th on a new list of the most vulnerable reptile species.

My dream is that the human plague will be wiped out by artificial intelligence or some virulent disease and plant and animal life will survive in harmony.
A critically endangered (CR) species is one which has been categorized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.
